First Sunset Over Athens

First Sunset Over Athens

It has officially been 3 weeks since I got on an airplane and left home. It still feels unreal that I am here. I can take a wrong turn and end up in beautiful sites with wowing views. My first sunset here was the most beautiful one that I have ever seen, and it came unexpectedly. That’s how it feels being abroad, everything you do is so unexpected. You don’t know what will be happening next, and it really can be anything. It is both a scary thing but also a fun thing because it does keep you on your toes. When I came across this hike to the Acropolis. I had no idea of the view that would be waiting for me. The exploration and getting lost were so worth it. I was able to find this view, meaning that now I can go on my own again. It makes me realize that I can do things on my own.

There I was, enjoying the view like everyone else was, and admiring the city. Athens has been a lovely city where everything is so beautiful and close by. I have been walking a lot because there is just so much to walk to. There’s a big national park by my campus, where it is so big, there’s a zoo there. Walking and being a home-stay student have taken me to a lot of interesting spots. Like parks, protests, the market, a thrift pop-up shop, and yummy restaurants. There is a lot you can get by just walking and taking wrong turns.
